But paper dust during long runs, — what’s helped me is a quick “wipe the ream edges” with a painter’s tack cloth before loading; it’s a ~$6 fix that noticeably cuts buildup. Keeping the room around 45–50% RH with a cheap hygrometer helps too; just don’t press the tack cloth hard or you can leave residue — light pass or a slightly damp microfiber works. Anyone else doing edge wipes vs. post-run cleanup, @Marco?
Biggest win for us was dialing feeder air down about 10% and delaying the separator puff one notch — less edge scuff on extended runs. On rough 24 lb this can invite doubles, so I nudge the retard up a click and watch the first 200 sheets, @williamsV23.
Before each ream, I do a 30-second pass with a $35 mini HEPA vac on the tray lips, side guides, and the reg path; it grabs the fines the brushes miss and our transfer belt stopped hazing. @Marco, your RH note helps too, but skip canned air — on my Ricoh it just blasted dust into the sensors and I had to clean the pre-transfer roller with a little 99% IPA.
